This is relatively easy, although it does depend on what device you read with. Some devices will simply open the file. Others require that you load or send it to the device or to an email address.

A quick online search of "how to transfer an epub to my XX" with XX being your device will bring up the most recent, best method.

An excellent question! There are a number of reasons why it is better for the reader and the author to buy direct. Here are just a few:

• You save money! All titles on the Code 4 Press store are priced less than on outside retailers, so you get the best deal.
• Coupons! From time-to-time, there are coupons and discounts available to readers who buy here.
• Exclusive Products! There are/will be products -- special editions, for example -- that are available ONLY directly from Code 4 Press. You won't get these anywhere else!
• Early Access! Although the timing varies, we are committed to releasing each new title exclusively through the Code 4 Press store when it comes out. That means you can get it here much earlier than at the retailers!
• It's best for the author! Direct purchases means that your support of the author goes the furthest. Without retailers taking a percentage (sometimes a high one) of each sale, the author receives more for his/her work. (This also allows the author to offer a better discount to you, the reader -- everybody wins!)

Zafiro was the name Frank and some friends selected during high school for their "film production company" (it was basically an independent study class in filmmaking). When Frank decided to use a pen name for his crime fiction, he chose Frank Zafiro as an homage for nostalgic reasons.

Scalise is Frank's real last name. And Saverio is his middle name.

Way to notice detail!

Initially, the River City series was separated into its mainline novels and then the associated novels and short stories that took place in the same universe. Some of the associated works took place outside of the time period of the main series... at least, when they were intially created.

As the River City series continued, the mainline books started to catch up to (and pass by!) the associated stories and novels. That's when Frank decided to roll everything into one series, all in one timeline. It was clearly the right decision for the sake of clarity.

Except... THE TRADE OFF and some of the stories in SUGAR GOT LOW still took place well ahead of the other works in the series. Frank had to decide to either incorporate a massive time jump forward -- more than a decade! -- or put placeholder books in place.

Ultimately, not wanting to miss out on many of the events that would occur during that time jump, he opted for the latter.

Thus, one or more "Forthcoming River City Novel" placeholders will remain until River City #18 is completed and we are all caught up.
